What is ConnecTech Foundation?
ConnecTech Foundation is a nonprofit organization that helps children and families access usable technology for school, work, community resources, friends, and loved ones. Pickup service is limited to Round Rock and nearby communities.
What technology do you accept?
We generally accept laptops, desktop computers, tablets, smartphones, monitors, chargers, keyboards, mice, and useful cables. Submit the pickup form with the condition of your items and our team will confirm whether we can take them.
Do devices need to work?
Working devices are most useful, but we may accept partly working or nonworking equipment for parts or responsible recycling. Tell us the known condition in your pickup request.
How does pickup work?
Complete the online pickup request with your contact information, address, and device details. A team member will confirm that your location is in Round Rock or a nearby community and arrange a pickup date. Submitting the form does not create an automatic appointment.
Should I erase my personal data?
Yes. Back up your files, sign out of accounts, disable tracking or activation locks, and reset or erase the device before pickup. Follow our preparation guide and never give us your passwords.
What happens to the technology after pickup?
The organization evaluates donated equipment for reuse. Usable devices may be cleaned, prepared, and matched with children or families. Equipment that cannot be reused may be handled for parts or responsible recycling, based on the organization's current program capacity.
Is my donation tax deductible?
ConnecTech Foundation is a Texas 501(c) nonprofit organization. Donations may be tax deductible as allowed by law. Donors should keep their donation acknowledgment and consult a tax professional about their individual circumstances.
Will I receive a donation acknowledgment?
The organization should provide a written acknowledgment describing the donated property and the pickup date. Donors are generally responsible for determining the property's value. Confirm the organization's receipt process when scheduling pickup.
How do you protect my address and contact information?
The public website can submit a pickup request but cannot read pickup records. Contact details are available only to approved administrators who sign in to the protected dashboard. The site owner should limit administrator accounts, use strong unique passwords, and enable multi-factor authentication.
Can businesses or schools donate several devices?
Yes. Use the pickup notes to describe the quantity, device types, condition, and any pickup requirements. The team will follow up to confirm whether it can handle the donation.
What should I do with a swollen or damaged battery?
Do not charge, puncture, squeeze, mail, or place it in household trash. Keep away from heat and flammable materials, avoid handling it more than necessary, and contact a qualified local household hazardous waste or electronics recycling service for instructions.
